We got a treat back then, first W.D. Richter's script for the remake of Body Snatchers in '78 then a couple years later, Burt Lancaster's son Bill wrote The Thing, perhaps the best remake of a classic we've seen. My other favorite quote is: "I know you gentlemen have been through a lot, but when you find the time, I'd rather not spend the rest of this winter TIED TO THIS FUCKING COUCH!"
I saw that trailer on PBS the other night and did a double-take. Like just about everyone else, he's found a niche in the 'small screen' market. It looks epic. Lots of brain food in there I imagine. Rush's Peter Sellers was intriguing. If I recall that was a Cable TV project as well.
i wrote up a blog, which i am shamelessly promoting by commenting to everyone i can think of who knows what it's all about. it's about the fod days, (really nights though) and i started writing it on a 6 pack, and and working on the 6th right now. it's 5 percent, so i'm feeling very happy.
