The Senate votes 70-7 to ban cigarette advertising on radio and television,
effective Jan. 1, 1971.
President Nixon announces he has ordered a reduction in American troop
strength in Vietnam by another 50,000 men in April and at the same time,
Secretary of defense Melvin Laird announced that the 1970 draft call will be
reduced 10%.
Comedy Whirled officially launches the first international humor publication to utilize Long Distance Xerography, and is predicted to have a circulation of over 400 by the year 2017.
