Here's an idea for a show called 1 Off (as in one and done). I'm serious with this one, so this isn't gonna be funny hopefully. It would be a show where each episode stands alone as an episode of it's on show apart from any episodes that follow. I don't know if it would be an hour or half an hour, it would depend on what sort of episode it was. Each show could be comedy, drama, mystery, sci fi or whatever. The episodes wouldn't necessarily be one pilot after another, just a typical episode from that show that doesn't exist, that way there wouldn't be constant introductions of characters. It would be like diving right into a show that isn't real. I'd use mostly the same actors through out, so the audience would become familiar with the actors instead of with the characters like with most shows. And it would let the actors show off their range because of them having to change character each week. I think people would turn it on and either love it or hate it right away, but if you hate it then you'll know that the next week it would be something totally new that you might like, and if you love it then you'll just have to deal with the fact that that's the only episode of that one and there'll be something different the next week. The idea is to keep moving forward, always changing, and giving the audience something fresh, but because the actors are the same it would start to feel like a normal show in a way. I hope this is clear what I'm talking about here, um, thank's for reading! (I'm thinking about it and this sounds alot like Twilight Zone, The Outer Limits, and Tales from the Crypt, but this would be less specific to horror like those.)

I do miss the Spielberg Amazing Stories, and there was more of a wow factor than a ha ha factor with those, which were wonderfully derivative of the Zones and the early serials of the 30s.   Of course, Quantum Leap is a great example of this working.  Too bad he finally had to make the leap home right?  What idiot wrote that episode??  Oh well, time for a new one and what better way to fill that void than with the 1-Off Show...
